Observatories

Since 1998 I have worked at various observatories around the world. A list of the observatories used in my research is given below:

Observatories in Greece

University of Thessaloniki Observatory, 0.2-m telescope

Installation of the first astronomical CCD camera, first observations and digital image processing. (used for 5 nights in 1998)

University of Athens Observatory, 0.4-m telescope

Installation of the first CCD camera, support and main observer of the University Observatory. Photometric study of variable stars. (used for 150-300 nights each year from 1999 until 2006 and from 2012 until today)

Spectroscopic observations of bright stars. Stellar spectroscopic classification. (used for 50 nights from 2006 until today)

National Observatory of Athens-Kryoneri Astronomical Station, 1.2-m telescope

Photometry of cataclysmic variable stars and binary systems. (used for 60 nights from 2000 until today)

National Observatory of Athens-Kryoneri Astronomical Station, 0.25-m telescope

Installation of telescopes and detectors for measuring the atmospheric seeing with the Differential Image Monitoring Method (DIMM). (used for 20 nights in 2002)

National Observatory of Athens-Kryoneri Astronomical Station, 0.10-m telescope

Installation of telescopes and detectors for observing extrasolar planets in the frame of the program Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP). (used for 20 nights in 2002)

National Observatory of Athens-Helmos Observatory, 2.3-m telescope

Photometric study of eclipsing binaries of W UMa type. (used for 7 nights in 2014 and 5 nights in 2015)

Observatories around the world

Kottamia Astronomical Observatory, 1.90-m telescope (Egypt)

Photometry of eclipsing binary stars. (10 nights in 2012)

Belogradchik Observatory, 0.60-m telescope (Bulgaria)

Photometry of eclipsing binary stars. (used for 1 night in 2000)

David Dunlap Observatory (DDO), 1.9-m telescope (Canada)

Spectroscopic observations of radial velocities in binary stars. (used for 40 nights during 2002-2006)

Suhora Observatory, 0.6-m telescope (Poland)

Photometric study of eclipsing binaries of W UMa type. (used for 13 nights during 2002-2003)

Ondrejov Observatory , 0.65-m telescope (Czech Republic)

Photometric study of eclipsing binaries of W UMa type. (used for 1 night in 2004)

Skibotn Observatory, 0.5-m telescope (Norway)

Photometric study of eclipsing binaries of W UMa type. (used for 12 nights in 2005)

South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO), 0.75-m telescope (South Africa)

Photometric study of eclipsing binaries of W UMa type. (used for 8 nights in 2005)

I have also worked with various telescopes and optical equipment, while I have many hours of observational experience in testing optical and astronomical equipment for space and ground-based optical instruments.
