1982-1983. Prehistoric excavation in Mikró Vouní, Samothrace. Problems on recent stratigraphy and determination of mollusks.

1984. Prehistoric excavation in Toumba Thessaloniki (excavation of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). Determination of mollusks.

1990. Determination of the mollusk fauna from the prehistoric excavations at Thermi and Vasilika (Thessaloniki). Possible ancient areas of shellfish gathering.

1993-2004. Research of the British School at Athens in Xerxe’s Canal. (Member of a research team). Supervisor of bore hole drilling and core sampling (9 bore holes up to 25m depth), Sedimentological and palaeontological analysis of the core samples, Holocene stratigraphy and palaeoenvironment of the area. (Research is still active).

1998. Reconstruction of the ancient marine shoreline in the wider area of the prehistoric settlement at Archontiko, Thessaloniki plain (excavation of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). In collaboration with assist. Prof K. Albanakis, School of Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

2000. Prehistoric excavation at Dimitra, Thessaly plain. Holocene Stratigraphy analysis, Identification of lacustrine fossiliferous sediments which cover Bronze age ruins.

2002. Study of the mollusk material from the Roman excavation at Berbati, Argolis (Peloponnese), (Swedish Archaeological institute at Athens).

2003 - 2004. Geoarchaeological research in the area of the prehistoric settlement “Mikro Vouni”, Samothrace island, northern Aegean. Coordinator of a joined research including Borehole drilling, Sedimentological - palaeontological analysis of the core samples, Holocene stratigraphy, Coastal bathymetry, Geophysical measurements. (granted by INSTAP).

Activities the last 5 years

2004-2006. Stratigraphic research of the Holocene coastal sediments on the east side of Zakynthos Island. Ionian sea. Reconsideration of the Holocene coastline migration.

2005 - present Excavation of the Swedish Archaeological institute at Athens in Poseidon’s sanctuary at Kalaureia, Poros island, Saronic gulf, Peloponnese, Study of the mollusk fauna, investigation of different source areas of ancient shellfish gathering.

2007-2010 “Geoarchaeological & Palaeogeographical research in Sperchios River valley, Fthiotis, Central Greece”. .(granted by INSTAP).Member of a research team research including Borehole drilling – core sampling, Geomorphology, Geophysical measurements. Responsible for Sedimentological - palaeontological analysis of the core samples, Holocene stratigraphy. Research is focused on Palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of ancient coastline along Agia Paraskevi prehistoric settlement, and in the area of the ancient battlefield of THERMOPYLAE (480 BC).
