Efstratios Kelepertzis, PhD

I obtained a Diploma in Geology from the University of Athens in 2003 and subsequently moved to Portsmouth (UK) where i received a MSc degree in Contaminated Land from the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2005. I completed my PhD thesis in Environmental Geochemistry in 2011 from the University of Athens by investigating the distribution and fate of potentially toxic elements in the freshwater environment in the active mining area of Stratoni (NE Greece).

I joined the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment as administrative staff and since May 2014, i hold a position as Laboratory Teaching Staff. My activities include the instruction of students to laboratory exercises of undergraduate courses and the operation of the analytical instruments of the 'Laboratory of Economic Geology and Geochemistry' for educational and research purposes. My teaching experience in the Department incorporates my past and present involvement in the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations. My research work is documented by being the single or co-author of several manuscripts published in peer-reviewed international journals.
