It is the second conference in the series after
MEDPINE,

The host Institute, MAICh (Mediterranean
Agronomic Institute of Chania), is an
international, educational and research institution with excellent conference
and lodging facilities. It is situated in the suburbs of the second major city
of Crete, Chania.

emphasis was placed on the eu-Mediterranean pine
species Pinus halepensis,
P. brutia, P. pinea,
P. pinaster, P. canariensis
and P. nigra
Sessions focused on:
Ecophysiology, Genetics & Breeding, Seeds,
Ecology, Management & Conservation.
Posters: maximum dimensions - 90 cm wide X 150
cm high.

350 EURO – not
including the excursion fee (50/55 EURO).
Student fees: 175 EURO (a
recommendation letter to Costas Thanos is required).
Partly
overlapping, Tree
Seeds 2002 (Annual Conference of IUFRO Group on Tree Seed Physiology
and Technology) also took place (Sep. 11-15, 2002) and participants who
attended both events paid a combined fee of 400 EURO (students 200 EURO).
