Sat June 18 th: Field trip to Katharo Plateau.

Special Events

Tuesday, June 14
Icebreaker party
The icebreaker party will be held in the foyer of the Natural History of Crete. You will have the chance to wonder around in the museum exhibitions and experience simulations of real earthquakes!

Thursday, June 16
Board meeting
The EAVP board meeting will take place either during the lunch break or after the end of the sessions.
General assembly
The annual meeting of the EAVP members will take place on Thursday in the conference hall of the museum. The participation of all members is considered essential as a new board has to be elected in 2011.
Auction
The assembly meeting will be followed by the auction that will also take place in the conference hall. Please bring items with you, the money raised from this year auction will contribute to the Raymonde Rivoallan Fund.

Friday, June 17
Workshop
This is an introductory workshop to basic casting, molding and mounting techniques. The workshop is addressed to scientists who are involved or want to expand their knowledge and skills in such techniques. The workshop will take place on the premises of the museum.
Conference dinner
Conference dinner at 20:00 in the courtyard/garden of the restaurant (mezedopoleio) Ligo apo ola in the centre of Heraklion. A three-course meal with delicacies of the local Cretan cuisine.

Sunday, June 19
Visit to Knossos
You may join us to a visit to the archaeological site of Knossos palace.The site is situated just outside the city of Heraklion, 15 minutes drive from the city centre. Knossos was the largest and richest city of the Minoan civilisation ( 27th to the 15th centuries BCE).
