Fields of interest -Isolation of compounds with pharmaceutical
and nutraceutical interest from natural sources. Search of new lead compounds
of plant and marine origin from Greek and -Natural products structure determination using
modern NMR techniques, Mass spectrometry and Molecular Modeling. -Design and synthesis of new molecules with
pharmacological interest (kinase inhibitors, neuroprotective agents,
antitumor, antibiotics, estrogen/antiestrogen) based on a natural product
core; structure-activity relationships, optimization of lead compounds. -Treatment of agricultural wastes for the large
scale production of high added value natural products -Essential oils, volatile, flavor and aroma constituents |
