Studies
Born in Athens, attended “Arsakeio” Elementary, Junior and Senior High School
1986-1990 Studied German Language and Literature at the University of Athens. Graduated in 1990
1987- 1989 Studied French Language and Literature at the French Institute of Athens (Institut Francais d’Athenes). Received the “Diplome d’ Etudes Universitaires Generales” from the University of Sorbonne, Paris IV.
1990 Was granted a scholarship from the German Institute Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, for post-graduate studies
1990-1991 As a scholar, studied French Literature at the University of Saar, in Germany. Received the “Licence de Lettres Modernes”.
1990-1994 Completed a doctorate thesis entitled “Das Land der Griechen. Studien zur Griechenlandrezeption in der modernen europäischen Erzählliteratur” (’Magna cum laude’) at the Faculty of Comparative Literature of the University of Saar, Germany and was awarded the PhD title.
Foreign Languages: almost native speaker in German, fluent in French, English and Spanish.

Research

1994 Participated as a visiting researcher at the Catholic University of America (Washington DC) in the research program of Comparative Literature entitled “America’s image in postwar German Literature”
1994-1996 Associate Researcher at the Institute of Mediterranean Studies. Contributed in the preparation of the Research Program on Archive of Neo-Hellenic Metrics
1998-1999 As a Researcher of the Hellenic Language Centre contributed in the organization and coordination of the Research Program on poems in foreign languages influenced by Cavafis
(The book was published: Anthology of foreign ‘Cavafogenous’ poems)

 

 

Teaching activity
1996-1997 German Language, at the Greek Air Force Academy
1996-1997 European Literature, at the Faculty of Bibliotheconomy of the Technological and Educational Institute of Athens
2000-2005 As a Lecturer, European Religious Literature and German Terminology in the Department of Social Theology of the School of Theology at the University of Athens, as well as Special Topics in Religious Literature in the postgraduate program
2005-  As an Assistant Professor, Religious Literature and Religious Themes in Modern Greek Literature, in the Department of Social Theology of the School of Theology at the University of Athens
2006-2007 History of European Literature at the Hellenic Open University

 

 

Other activities

2002-2004 Member of the Jury of State Awards of Literature
2004 Organized the International Symposium on the “The Greek Experience” held in the European Centre of Delphi. The Acts of the Symposium were published by Nepheli editions (“The Greek Experience”, edited by Kirki Kefalea)
