Book Description
What makes it semiconductors a special class of materials; Why we are not able to construct devices similar to those of semiconductor devices made of metal, wood or plastic; The answer lies in their properties and in a great number of consequent physical phenomena .
The interesting physics of this particular class of materials, semiconductors, an integral part of the condensed matter physics, the present book attempts to highlight. Moreover, only the knowledge and understanding of the fundamental physical processes that take place in a physical system is a prerequisite for a more comprehensive, in scope and in depth investigation of, and enables us to be led to interesting new applications or improve the already existing.
Aiming at the possible autonomy of the content, a part of the book attempts to cover key aspects of condensed matter physics, which are prerequisite knowledge and contribute to comprehensive understanding of " The Physics of Semiconductors" that follows.
