-16- In fact the Markovian model applied on the funnel plot of the MicroPK database indicates that on average the self-transition probabilities are approximately p = q = 0.83.  That is, on average and across experiments a MicroPK hit should follow a previous hit at a frequency approximately of 83%, while the same holds for the frequency of two MicroPK misses in a row.   This is a curious conclusion considering that the original MicroPK hypothesis expects a persistence of only hits. On the other hand, the MicroPK database does not confirm such persistence, since its most representative effect size is exactly 50% and not above it [1].
