Coastal Geomorphology Fluvial Geomorphology, Morphotectonics, Quaternary Geology, Geoarchaeology, Environmental Geomorphology. Additionally in the evaluation of Geomorphic hazards (erosion, landslides, floods), the vulnerability of coastal regions with respect to the expected sea level rise or to the tsunami waves.

AWARDS

In 2011, I received from the Academy of Sciences of Athens, for the work “Quaternary marine terraces as indicators of neotectonic activity of the Ierapetra normal fault SE Crete (Greece)”, the “Ktenas” award for the best paper in Geology. 

 

·         I have participated in more than 70 congresses, conferences, meetings and seminars with presentations at most of them.

·         I have 153 publications and more than 180 citations

·         I participated in the organization and realization of 10 scientific field excursions for postgraduate students of foreign universities (Caltech, IPG Paris, University of Warsaw, etc)

·         I participated in the organization and realization of 5 scientific field excursions for International conferences and visit of the Polish Geomorphological society.

·         I participated in more than 20 R&D projects

·         I participated in the Organizing and Scientific committees of 5 National and International conferences

·         Person in charge for the invitation of foreign scientists in the seminars of the Dpt of Geography.

·         Member and secretary of the Hellenic Geomorphological Society

The project was realized in the period 2004-2006, was funded by the Greek Secretary of Research and Technology in the frame of Greece-France cooperation.
