Estimation of Monomer Content in Polymers Monomer to polymer conversion in PMMA is not always 100%  complete depending on conditions present. T wo characteristic Raman frequencies of PMMA serve as an estimate of the conversion ratio from monomer to polymer . This allows for the calibration of the Raman frequencies to directly estimate the percentage of monomer to polymer content as well as the reaction enthalpies. The approach can be quite useful in the study of dental restorative composites .
