INSTRUCTIONS TO AUTHORS OF ABSTRACTS
1. Deadline for submission of abstracts: January
10, 2004.
2. Each
abstract must fit in a (virtual) frame of 15 cm wide x 11 cm high using Times New Roman fonts
(12 points), standard spacing between characters and 12 points (single line)
spacing between lines. (Only the Address line should be 10 points). The
abstract must be prepared using MS Word and should be titled after the presenting
author family name (e.g. Thanos.doc for the example below).
3. Abstracts should follow the format described below:
First line(s): Title in Bold,
Title Case, and Centred
next line: blank
next line: Names of authors,
centred - underline the name of the presenting author
next line: Address(es) of institution(s), centred, 10 points, provide the email of the presenting author
next line: blank
next line: Text (fully justified)
without paragraphs

Please note: Abstracts larger than the recommended
dimensions or not complying with the format specified above may not be accepted
or appear truncated in the Book of Abstracts.
WHEN
SUBMITTING ABSTRACTS:
4. Please indicate (at the bottom of your Abstract page)
whether you prefer an oral
(20 min including discussion) or poster presentation (maximum dimensions 90 cm wide X 120
cm high).
5. Please
indicate (at the bottom of your Abstract page) the scientific field of
your abstract (choose among the following)
1- Mediterranean seed
ecology
2- Evolution of seeds
3- Seed dispersal
4- Field seed banks
5- Seed dormancy and
germination
6- Seeds in ecosystem
functioning
7- Applied seed ecology
8- Other
and if necessary specify a subfield (within
a field) or state an additional one (if the theme of abstract is beyond the
topics given).
6. The
authors should submit their abstracts by e-mail to cthanos@biol.uoa.gr
as a file attachment by the deadline of January 10, 2004.
7. The
authors will receive email verification within 1 or 2 days after the receipt of
the abstract.
8. The authors will be informed before January 25th, 2004 about acceptance of
their paper (and type of presentation – oral/poster).
9. All accepted, oral and poster contributions would only appear in the final programme
when a valid registration form has been received from the corresponding author
prior to the deadline of February 1, 2004.
