AB:

The seeds of B. tournefortii are dark germinating and negatively photosensitive. Germination was inhibited by white, blue, red, and far-red continuous irradiations regardless of the phytochrome photostationary state established. Furthermore, the kinetics of and escape from secondary dormancy induction by light were studied. A most striking feature was that a red light pulse following a period of dark or low psicontinuous irradiation had the opposite effect.
