A Survey of Free Semigroup Algebras.

A free semigroup algebra is a weakly closed algebra of operators on Hilbert space generated by n isometries with pairwise orthogonal ranges.
The
prototype is the algebra Ln generated by the
left regular representation of the free semigroup
on n letters.
I
will present a survey of results on these algebras.
